I don't think it's fair to say you're a great sprite artist, and then only do recolours and fusions. Anyone who's ever dabbled in sprites can do those.

If you don't post a sample of your work we can't judge your work.

Also, giving people JPEGs of sprites kind of shows how inexperienced you are. JPEGs do bad things to sprites, you should offer either GIFs or PNGs. Go on then, as an example, do me a Charizard with Salamence's wings, but the same colour as Charizard's wings (not red).

You shouldn't just give up on a piece you don't like. If you want to get god at spriting, you need to always be working on pieces you don't like until you do like them

You shouldn't just give up on a piece you don't like. If you want to get god at spriting, you need to always be working on pieces you don't like until you do like them A very good point. The best spriters get much of their talent from loads of practice. The more you do it, the better you'll get. Some tips to help you improve: You seem to be pretty good at splice-spriting. I would try practicing a little more with that. Do as many as it takes for you to feel like you have a handle on the art style. Once you're confident you've got that part down, take a Pokemon and start adding custom-drawn parts, like wings to Magmar or something. When you're making custom parts, do your best to match the rest of the body of the Pokemon, or whatever it is you happen to be drawing. Keep light source and the shades of colors you're using consistent throughout. When you're drawing anything custom, zoom in on the image and do it pixel by pixel. I know this sounds tedious, but it makes it flow a lot better, and you will have a lot less erasing to do when things don't come out exactly right. Once you've got all that down, really study some of the sprites made by the professionals. Look at how they are shaded, the range of colors they use, etc. After you've done that, start to make your own full-customs, following the patterns and ideas you learned.

To gale: +1 karma, same reason as BuffyBoy's.
Also, spectrums and siamese take 1 second to do, so they can do it alone. Doing such simple things will attract no requests.

With PSP (Paint Shop Pro), you can do it in I second. Windows Paint is awful.
Karma is like fate.

I'm not sure how to do it, but you can recolour in seconds on MSPaint as well. I have it saved on my other computer. . .which is 100 miles away from me right now. D: But yes, if you're going to sprite, I'd recommend getting a real graphics program. If you don't want to spend money, I would recommend you go to www.gimp.org/ , which is a free program that will allow you much more freedom than MSPaint will, and is much more specialized. If you're unsure how to use it, either PM me (or I'm sure some of the other members have discovered this wondeful freeware), or you can read tutorials right from the website.
