(Give this to Articuno! Yes, I do think we need to give pokemon from previous generations new traits!)
Terrify
Reduces opponent's sp.atk.
(by 1 level like intimidate? We could probably have it as a secondary trait for the reaper line)
Sixth Sense
Blocks dark moves.
(Hmm... 2nd trait for the seer line maybe, and girafarig?)
Soul Drain
Gains 1/4 HP if faints the foe.
(Oooh, good idea, need to think alittle who to give this to...)
Insight
Pokémon with this ability can hit underground/flying/underwater Pokémon.
(We have this as Long Reach for Aipound)
Eternal Flame
Prevents freezing.
Glow
lights up caves and dark places, has a 30% chance of reducing accuracy.
(I don't think people will like abilities that happen by chance
. This will make competitive battling more luck based. We have an ability called Bright Coat that lowers accuracy when switched in, though we didn't come up with the idea to light up caves, good one!)
Hibernation
The Pokémon falls asleep every other turn and instead gains some health during that turn.
Snowy Trail
When a Pokémon With this ability enters the battle field,it starts to Snow.
Sub-zero
Water attacks gain 5-10% chance of freezing. Turns the Rain Into Hail and the foe has a 30% being frozen.
(Hmm... Might be better as a move, dunno.)
Rekindle
Converts fire into HP.
(Holy eee! I say give it to Moltres and Ho-oh!!)
Permafrost
This Pokémon cannot be burned or frozen. (since it already is)
Tough Feet
The Pokémon is immune to Spikes.
(HOLY eee! Most awesome trait ever thought off! We must give it to somebody cool!)
Umbrella
Rain, Acid rain(new weather effect), intense sunlight, and Hail don't affect the Pokémon.
(Interesting, Mallusk maybe)
Sleep Walker
Pokémon can randomly use a physical attack when sleeping.
(interesting...)
Pure Instinct
When Accuracy is low,attack is heightened.
(Sexy, some fighters should have this... but who?)
Grave Robber
When the opponent faints(and the Pokémon that has this ability is in field),its item goes to your backpack(if it has one).
Regenerate
Pokémon with this ability heal 1/16 of total HP every turn.
(Blissey! Just kidding, toge line maybe!)
Shock Proof
Prevents Paralysis and electric attacks don't effect the Pokémon.
Third Eye
Boosts Psychic-Type attacks power.
(Maybe good as a move for seers)
Bullet Proof
Prevents projectile damage like Pin Missile,Icicle Spear etc.
(Very interesting)
Heavy Weight
Cannot be hurt by moves which require you to be lifted.
(Pretty hard to code, but good idea non the less, possible candidates include hariyama, snorlax who already has 2 abilities and some heavy steel pokemon.)
Nocturnal
Doubles speed at night.
(Thought of exact same thing when we were designing the rock/flying gargoyle pokemon, but the design was never successful.)
Camouflage
The Pokémon gains 50% max evasion, Only works when the Pokémon is hit more than twice.
Ocean Spirit
The Pokémon's Special Attack and Special Defense are doubled if battling near water.
(I scream Lapras! She needs to be super uber!)
Solar Power
Heals Pokémon when Sunny day is in effect.
(I think D/P has this power for sunflora)
Night Vision
Increases accuracy in darkness.
(I say Umbreon, but pressure is probably better on it anyways)
Gale Force
If it is windy(new weather effect) is always in effect when the Pokémon is in play.
(Pretty cool, probably hurricrane's trait)
Glitch
Randomly during a battle the Pokémon won't attack, but two stats will be raised by on level.
(Too chance based.)
Here are some traits that we changed, decided to used or made up ourselves:
Illuminate- Light attacks become more powerful when the user is below 1/3 health. (Pokemon: Lumonix)
Stench- Horrid smell that flinches all pokemon on the field upon switching in. Poison POKEMON are immune.
Run Away- Allows running or switching from trapping abilities and moves.
New Abilities
Bright Coat- Lowers opponent's accuracy by 1 level upon switching in. (Pokemon: Lumonix, Heroncholy)
Second Sight- Uses the power of forsight to allow all moves hit right on target. (Pokemon: Seerion, Adumbrion, Baskkion)
Light Absorb- Absorbs light type attacks into health. (Pokemon: Albinos)
Lethal Aim- Critical hit rate of any attack is doubled. (Pokemon: Gashper, Sinscisor, Absol)
Fair Match- Copies all of opponent's stat changes upon switching in. Does not work in double battles. (Pokemon: Lioter, Tabiki, Voltic, Tsunako, Polynx)
Fair Play- all pokemon on the field looses their special trait. (Pokemon: Reirei)
Rising Fog- Creates Haze upon switching in. (Pokemon: Phrostom, Cascadran)
Perfect Blow- None of user's attacks are counterable. (Pokemon: Buxomble, Quarrelock, Aipound)
Happy Belly- Berry is activated when health falls below 1/2. (Pokemon: Belload)
Mystic Aura- Mystical aura protects user from status conditions. (Pokemon: Pegazelle, Solomond, Blizzaden, Druigon, Aurosar, Thundraik)
Light Step- User's speed stat is doubled. (Pokemon: Balalla, Beleria)
Petrify- Flinches opposing pokemon upon switching in. (Pokemon: Vedusa)
Plant Food- A little bit of HP is restored every turn that it is sunny. (Pokemon: Stegrose. Stegorant, Stagplant, Legumble, Plumenade)
Cloak- Evasion increases in darkness. (Pokemon: Vassasark)
Weatherchaos- Changes weather to counteract the attack which hit the user the turn before. <Rains if hit by fire, eclipse if hit by light, sunny if hit by water, electric or dark.> (Pokemon: Surris, Cumulonos)
Unstabble- Explodes when hit by a super-effective attack or an attack of the pokemon's type. (Pokemon: Bombust, Dinfersion, Kanninaid)
Frozen Touch- All moves have an 10% chance of causing freeze on the opponent. (Pokemon: Phrostom, Yetchill)
VengefulSoul- Causes the pokemon that fainted the user to fall asleep. Does not work on pokemon with Isomnia. (Pokemon: Banette)
Specialist- Makes stabbed attacks more powerful, 2x instead of 1.5x. (Pokemon: Mirreflect, Psymond, Buxomble, Quarrelock)
Quick Adapt- All moves are stabbed. (Pokemon: Mirreflect, Psymond)
Scavenger- Speed increases by 1.5x when targetted pokemon's health is low. <Activates when targetted pokemon's hp is in the red zone> (Pokemon: Spearow, Fearow, Poochyena, Mightyena, Fryote)
Descent- Uses high atmospheric pressure to keep levitating pokemon on ground. <works on flying pokemon, too, and rids off their flying type> (Pokemon: Raimor, Storain)
Long Reach- User is able to reach pokemon that are skyhigh, underground or underwater. (Pokemon: Aipound)
D/P New Abilities
Anger Nerve- The pokemon's attack raises when hit by a critical hit. (Pokemon: Mankey, Primeape, Tauros)
Belligerence- Attack raises if opponent is of the same gender as this pokemon. (Pokemon: Both nido lines)
Body Risk- All retaliatory moves have increased power. (Pokemon: Hitmonlee)
Iron Fist- All punching moves have 1.2x the power. (Pokemon: Hitmonchan)
Download- depends on the foe's highest stat, this pokemon raises in that stat. (Pokemon: porygon line)
Dry Skin- Hp looses everyturn it is sunny but restores every turn it is rainy. (Pokemon: Polywag, Polywhirl, Polywraith)
Far Sight- Allows you to see opponent's hold item. (Pokemon: Stantler)
Filter- All super-effective moves' damage on this pokemon are halved. (Pokemon: Mr Mime)
Gluttory- Pokemon uses held berries quicker. (Pokemon: Shuckle, Zizagoon, Linoone)
Humble Heart- Speed raises after flinched. (Pokemon: Himon preevo)
Ice Body- Hp restores every turn in Hail. (Pokemon: Spheal, Sealeo, Wailren, Glalie and pre evo)
Magic Guard- Only moves that do damage work on this pokemon. (Pokemon: Clefairy line)
Moist Body- Status is cured in rainy day. (Pokemon: Seel, Dewgong)
No Guard- All moves have 100% accurate when this pokemon is on the field. <Opponent's and partner's moves are 100%, too when this pokemon's on the field> (Pokemon: Machop line)
Normal Skin- All moves used by this pokemon become normal type. (Pokemon: Skitty, Delcatty)
Poison Heal- Hp increases when afflicted with a status condition. (Pokemon: Shroomish, Breloom)
Psychic Dream- Allows the user to see all of the opponent's moves. (Pokemon: Seerion, Adumbrion, Baskkion, Drowzee, Hypno, Smoochum, Jynx)
Quick Feet- Speed increases when this pokemon is afflicted with a status. (Pokemon: Granbull, Teddiursa, Ursaring, Poochyena, Mightyena)
Simple Minded- Effects from user's held items and attacks are increased. (Pokemon: Numel)
Skill Link- Raises number of hits when using moves that hit multiple times. (Pokemon: Shellder, Cloyster)
Snipe- Increases the base value of an attack during critical hit. (Pokemon: Horsea line, Octillery line)
Snow Hide- Evasion raises in hail. (Pokemon: Swinub, Piloswine)
Sun Power- Special attack increases when sunny. (Pokemon: Sunflora line, Tropius)
Technician- Power of weaker moves are increased 1.5x. <Weaker moves are moves equal to or under base power 60> (Pokemon: Scyther, Scizor, Meowth, Persian, Smeargle, Hitmontop)
Unconventional (need another name)- Opponent's trait has no effect. (Pokemon: Pinsir)
