How about something like this for the cats: Nimble Learned By: The Cats Effect: 20% chance to raise evasiveness each turn.
...or we could give them serene grace....

Area Traits Special Locations could have their own traits, too. For example-

Surfing - Pokemon cannot be burned - Water Pokemon get a Speed increase each turn - Ground type moves do Water type damage instead - Electric type moves have a 10% (or extra 10%) chance of Paralyzing

Name: Ill-Transmit Effects: If a Pokemon has a status condition, all user's attacks gain the ability to inflict the same status. Pokemon: Unknown I was thinking, would this be only through attacks that involve contact (Or use of breath like Dragon Breath, FT and HyperBreath)? Also, I just looked at the old "Molt" Idea. So a trait for Fouwler? Or not? Name: Molt Effects: Same as Shed Skin Pokemon: Fouwler (Others? Fearow? Pidge line?) I just wanna get those ideas down pat so they can go on the site soon.

Two ones...
Scary Look For: As a replacement for some Intimidates. Effect: Lowers Defense.
Transparency For: Mew, maybe Mewtwo, some more Psychics. Effect: After every move that raises Defense or Sp. Defense, there is a 10% chance that the Pokemon will become invisible for one turn - opponents' attack misses.

We need a Trait roundup.
We need script for moves, as well as completed script for old moves, and some to edit. (Ask DC Delta)
And...We have the old abilties' effects
Air Lock Battle: Is not affected by weather. Moves and abilities which affect the weather are ignored. Hail and Sandstorm will not cause this Pokémon damage. If a Pokémon with the Swift Swim or Chlorophyll ability enters battle during weather which increases the Pokémon's Speed, its Speed will not increase. Arena Trap Battle: The opponent cannot run nor switch. Flying-type Pokémon and Pokémon with the Levitate special ability are unaffected. If this Pokémon switches, the opponent is still trapped for that turn. The opponent may still switch by using Baton Pass. Map: Emerald: If the Pokémon is in the lead spot, chance of encountering a wild Pokémon increases to 200%. Battle Armor Battle: The opponent's moves cannot Critical Hit. Blaze Battle: When HP is below 1/3rd, Fire's power increases to 1.5 times. Cacophony Battle: Unaffected by sound moves. Chlorophyll Battle: When sunny, Speed doubles. However, Speed will not double on the turn weather becomes Clear Skies. Clear Body Battle: Opponents' moves which lower this Pokémon's ability values have no effect. This Pokémon may lower its own stats with moves such as Curse and Overheat. Cloud Nine Battle: Is not affected by weather. Moves and abilities which affect the weather are ignored. Hail and Sandstorm will not cause this Pokémon damage. If a Pokémon with the Swift Swim or Chlorophyll ability enters battle during weather which increases the Pokémon's Speed, its Speed will not increase. Color Change Battle: This Pokémon's type becomes the type of the last damaging move which hit it. Compoundeyes Battle: Accuracy is raised by 30% in battles. Map: Emerald: If the Pokémon is in the lead spot, chance of encountering a wild Pokémon holding an item increases. Cute Charm Battle: The opponent has a 30% chance of being induced with Attract when using a direct attack against this Pokémon. Map: Emerald: If the Pokémon is in the lead spot, chance of encountering a wild Pokémon of the opposite gender will be 66.6%. Does not affect swarming Pokémon. Damp Battle: Neither side can use Explosion or Selfdestruct. If this Pokémon is switched into battle the turn one of these moves is chosen, the move will fail. If this Pokémon is out of battle the turn one of these moves is chosen, the move will succeed. Drizzle Battle: Rain falls when the Pokémon enters battle. If a Pokémon with Drought or Sand Stream enters battle at the same time, whichever comes out last affects the weather. Drought Battle: Sunlight shines when the Pokémon enters battle. If a Pokémon with Drizzle or Sand Stream enters battle at the same time, whichever comes out last affects the weather. Early Bird Battle: SLEEP conditions lasts for half as long, rounding down. For example, half of three turns is 1.5, which rounds down to one turn. When the number of turns to sleep is one, half of this rounded down is zero, and the Pokémon wakes up instantly. Effect Spore Battle: The opponent has a 10% chance of being induced by PARALYE, POISON, or SLEEP when using a direct attack against this Pokémon. Flame Body Battle: The opponent has a 30% chance of being induced with BURN when using a direct attack against this Pokémon. Map: Emerald: Eggs hatch in half the time. Flash Fire Battle: Activates when user is hit by a damaging Fire-type move (including Fire-type Hidden Power). Once activiated, user's Fire-type moves deal 1.5 times damage. While this ability is in effect, this Pokémon is immune to damage from Fire-type attacks and Fire-type Hidden Power -- accuracy and effect from these moves are ignored. For Fire-type Pokémon with this ability, Will-O-Wisp activates this ability without having an effect. If a non-Fire-type Pokémon has this ability, Will-O-Wisp will activate the ability and will have an effect. Forecast Battle: This Pokémon's type and figure change with the weather. Guts Battle: Attack raises to 1.5 times when induced with a status (Burn, Paralyze, Sleep, Poison, Freeze). Burn's effect of lowering Attack is still applied. Huge Power Battle: Attack power is doubled in battle. It will return to normal if special ability is taken. Hustle Battle: Damage from physical attacks is 1.5 times, but average accuracy is only 80%. Map: Emerald: If the Pokémon is in the lead spot, chance of encountering a high level wild Pokémon decreases.

Part 2
Hyper Cutter Battle: Opponent cannot lower this Pokémon's Attack value. This Pokémon may still lower its own Attack value using a move such as Superpower. Map: Emerald: The move Cut cuts a larger range of tall grass. Illuminate Map: If the Pokémon is in the lead spot, chance of encountering a wild Pokémon increases to 200%. Holding Cleanse Tag invalidates this effect. Immunity Battle: This Pokémon cannot be Poison condition. If a Poisoned Pokémon gains this ability, such as by Transform, Role Play, Skill Swap, or Trace, Poison will be removed. If the ability is lost, the Poison returns. If a Poisoned Pokémon enters battle with this ability, it will be cured. Inner Focus Battle: This Pokémon will not flinch. Does not prevent flinching with Focus Punch. In a Double Battle, both opponents' Attack are lowered. Pokémon with the Clear Body, Hyper Cutter, or White Smoke ability are unaffected. In a link battle, if both sides switch on the same turn, and first player sends out a Pokémon with Intimidate, the opponent's Attack will be lowered before the opponent's Pokémon switches. Map: Emerald: If the Pokémon is in the lead spot, chance of encountering a low level wild Pokémon decreases by 50%. This applies to Pokémon five levels lower than and below from the level of the lead Pokémon. Keen Eye Battle: Opponent cannot lower this Pokémon's accuracy. Liquid Ooze Battle: When the opponent absorbs Hit Points from this Pokémon, the opponent instead loses Hit Points. Magma Armor Battle: This Pokémon cannot be Freeze condition. If a Frozen Pokémon enters battle with this ability, it will be cured. Map: Emerald: Eggs hatch in half the time. Magnet Pull Battle: Steel types cannot run nor switch while this Pokémon is in battle. Own Tempo Battle: This Pokémon cannot be Confuse condition. If an confused Pokémon gains this ability, such as by Transform, Role Play, or Skill Swap, Confusion will be cured. Pickup Battle: Has a 10% chance of finding and holding an item after battle. Will not work if this Pokémon is already holding an item. Plus Battle: When battling with Minus, Special Attack becomes 1.5 times. Poison Point Battle: The opponent has a 30% chance of being induced with POISON when using a direct attack against this Pokémon. Pressure Battle: When this Pokémon is hit by a move, the opponent's PP lowers by 2 rather than 1. Map: Emerald: If the Pokémon is in the lead spot, chance of encountering a wild Pokémon decreases to 50%. Holding Cleanse Tag invalidates this effect. Pure Power Battle: Attack power is doubled in battle. It will return to normal if special ability is taken. Rock Head Battle: Does not receive recoil damage from moves such as Double-Edge and Volt Tackle. Rough Skin Battle: The opponent is hurt by 1/16th hit points of recoil when using a direct attack against this Pokémon. Run Away Battle: Except for trainer battles, can always run from battle. Cannot run during Mean Look or Block or when the opponent is trapping with the Arena Trap, Magnet Puul, or Shadow Tag ability. Sand Stream Battle: Sandstorm blows when the Pokémon enters battle. If a Pokémon with Drizzle or Drought enters battle at the same time, whichever comes out last affects the weather. Sand Veil Battle: During a sandstorm, this Pokémon's evasion is higher. Opponents' moves have an 80% chance of hitting this Pokémon. Map: Emerald: If the Pokémon is in the lead spot, chance of encountering a wild Pokémon during a sandstorm decreases to 50%. Speed does not increase the turn this Pokémon is switched into battle. Static Battle: The opponent has a 30% chance of being induced with PARALYZE when using a direct attack against this Pokémon. Map: Emerald: If the Pokémon is in the lead spot, chance of encountering an Electric-type wild Pokémon increases to 150%. Swift Swim Battle: When rainy, Speed doubles. However, Speed will not double on the turn weather becomes Heavy Rain. Synchronize Battle: When this Pokémon becomes Poison, Paralyze, or Burn, so does the opponent. However, Fire-type and Water Veil ability Pokémon cannot be Burned, Poison-type and Steel-type and Immunity ability Pokémon cannot be Poisoned, and Limber ability Pokémon cannot be Paralyzed. Here are the traits I think are both the most sensible and are already given to approapriate pokemon (I've also altered a few of these traits by the way):
Name: Frozen Touch Effect: Adds a 10% Freeze Effect to all touching attacks. Pokemon: Phrostom, Yetchill
Name: Brash Antics Effect: All attacking moves are 1.5x, but with accuraccy lowered to 80% (very much like Hustle) Pokemon: Buxomble, Quarrelock, Fryote
Name: Weatherchaos (better name perhaps?) Effect: Cycles through different weathers. ~Specifics: Makes the weather change each turn, in the following order: rain, sun, hail, thunderstorm. When it does so, it changes its SECOND TYPE(if it has a second type). Pokemon: Surris, Cumulonos
Name: Plant Food Effects: A little bit of HP is restored every turn that it is sunny. Pokemon: Stegrose, Stegorant, Stagplant, Legumble, Plumenade, Tangela Evo
Name: Second Sight Effects: Allows user to see opponent's next action and act upon it. Pokemon: Seerion, Dark Seerion, Light Seerion
Name: Bright Coat Effect: Lowers foe's accuracy upon entering. Pokemon: Luminox, Albinos, Pikkok + evo.
Name: Long Reach Effect: User is able to touch flyers, bouncers, divers + diggers. Pokemon: Aipound
Name: Scavenger Description: Earns an additional 10% money after trainer battles (Or, can be like the Pickup trait, only with money) Used by: Fryote etc.
I think brearl + evo + sheltor should have the very sensible shell armor only.
Also Happy belly is bugging me, since belload himself can learn stock pile.

Double Post, wooo! My new idea for Happy Belly:
Name: Happy Belly Effects: Allows the user to stockpile 6 times instead of the usuall 3. Pokemon: Belload.

Triple. New idea + name for weatherChaos.
Name: Cyclone Effect: Cycles through different weathers. ~Specifics: Makes the weather change each turn, in the following order: rain, thunderstorm, hail, sunny day. (user does NOT change type) Pokemon: Surris, Cumulonos

You forgot acid rain and the eind one that we may need (For wind castform)
I think it should not change every turn, but the one it starts the battle with should be random. Changes after 5 would be nice, if not 3.
|
|
|
Post by Super Cuddles on May 1, 2005 18:06:04 GMT
except that acid rain and sandstorm aren't actually weathers. (THIS TRAIT IS NOT FOR CASTFORM)
I think it should change every turn as cyclone brings all sorts of weathers. I will rearrange the order of the weathers in a more sensible way.

Added in the wind type field move.

Second sight also bugs me abit, I've a few ideas but not sure if they actually are good:
1. Name: Second Sight Effects: Gazes into the opposing trainer's pokeslot and randomly show a pokemon that's not sent out. Pokemon: Seerion, Dark Seerion, Light Seerion
1. Name: Second Sight Effects: Gazes into the opposing pokemon's mind to see whether it knows moves that would land supereffective hit on user. (shows only those supereffective moves) Pokemon: Seerion, Dark Seerion, Light Seerion
Also, Reaction and unstable for the bomb line:
Name: Unstabble Effects: Explodes when hit by fire or eletric attacks (its own elements) Pokemon: bombs
Name: Reaction Effects: 30% chance of exploding when it is hit. Pokemon: bombs
|
|
|
Post by mattgcn on May 7, 2005 17:40:16 GMT
I liked the old reaction. Unstable, meh.

Post them here then.
Just found out that this is used for darchrome and its counterpart and pre-evo
Braced Learned by: Strongwilled Pokémon Effect: If the Pokémon is about to faint, it has a 10% chance of hanging on with 1 HP. Does not stack bonuses with Focus Band.

Here's the old Unstable/Reaction, if I remember right...
Unstable was exactly how Cuddles posted it, except it also detonated if hit by ground...right?
As for Reaction, it caused the pokemon to Explode after three turns of being on the field.
Actually, I think those two names are mixed up. Not sure.
I know this is really off-topic, but there is a specific reason that Flying pokemon have to have a second type, but I can't remember why. Can someone please explain to me again?

Post by mattgcn on May 7, 2005 18:55:56 GMT
You mixed them up. Unstable was I think speed kept increasing but it exploded, then reaction was Fire, Electirc and Ground.
If only I knew where PPC was. That's where he got it.

Another idea for second sight:
1. Name: Second Sight Effects: All moves do not miss Pokemon: Seerion, Dark Seerion, Light Seerion
Last time I checked, the seerions can't learn any 1 hit KOs, so that's good. This trait also makes moves like hypnosis useful.
