1. These are not maps, they are images for use, like the Slots. 2. If I remember correctly, the pictures are not supposed to be coloured... 3. Are we having these puzzles, or maybe the Crystal ones? I could also sprite out something totally new.

I'd say they do look good. Good use of shading.
Now to business. Topaz, why don't you ask someone what you should do if you can do stuff like that? Did you make these just for us, or did you already let someone use them? We care, because we like having unique sprites (there was talk of this in the FPV section).
I'm sorry to annoy you BuffyBoy, but can you please write my name properly? The meaning of the name requires it to be in capitals... okay? Thankyou.

KARR, be nice. Those are absolutely awesome! I love them! Are the crystal puzzles different? If so, try to get them done too. The only problem I see is that I don't think there should be colour. If so, make them dull and rockish. They are ancient. Otherwise, they rock!

I think they are the words. The ones at the back of each ruin-room.

I think, from a strictly personal opinion, that the panels should be left uncoloured. I say this because:
1) It makes the puzzle more difficult without colour to help the player, and segments of the puzzle more uncharacteristic and don't tell the player immediately that "Hey I'm the Eye piece, put me there!". The uncoloured version is less distinctive and hence more challenging as a puzzle.
2) As an ancient stonework puzzle, it shouldn't have much paint left over, especially those of a bright colour. If it was a faded hue on everything, then maybe, but see point 1.
Now, what you could do, is to make more detailed stone cracks in the pieces, to show the wear-and-tear of time on the stone slabs themselves. This would add a good level of realism and detail that excludes colour. Something to think about.

I said they weren't supposed to be colourful. Cracks would be certainly good, and how about bits broken off and blots of an unkown susbtance? I mean, fungi.

I said they weren't supposed to be colourful. But you didn't state why, which lacks the motivational factor for him to change it ~DS

Well, you are right. If it will be used or not, I'm working on insides for the Ruins of Alph. Something rather hard. Maybe if the puzzles are improved by what you said, they could be used if my idea will be used. But there will be more parts to it.

Maybe it can light up in these colors after it's solved, just for the use of these, since they are awesome.

Are you just putting the FRLG rock tile there? I'd say to do it a different way.
Use that instead of the two-shade grey background. Keep the shading (mostly, but remove a bit of details) but recoliur it all with the rock tile colours. Don't forget the cracks.
Just follow that and it'll look great.

Yes, remember, the puzzle SHOULD be difficult to do.

Snort is a onomatopeia. A rather bad one at it.
