I contacted FMY by email about using the fakes for my RPG. It's a message board RPG. It's advertised as the most realistic RPG ever. Or at least, it will be. It's still in the making but there will be the three original regions and more fan made regions. I might include this one once the games done.
But, to the point, can I use them? I'll give credit.

Wait, does this mean you want to use the PT Pokemon? I don't really want to see what I've designed bandied about until after the game is finished. It would feel... ...dumb.

Besides that, they were made for this game, not to be used all around the internet.
Some creators won't want you using them, others may not mind.

BTW, Bonzai, in your sig the grass is a bit choppy. Maybe you should make a few more frames for it.

Hmm... Well, could one of you recruit the creators? I don't know which ones they are...

Well, that's actually quite impossible, simply because not all sprites have only one creator. Thgey have a spriter, people that made the stats etc. However, the most important people for all these things are Cuddles, Bonzai and OrangeKecleon.

I wouldn't mind if you'd use my pokémon, but since I didn't make any of them, that doesn't help.
