This is mostly Cuddles work apart from the moon stuff at the end... which is mine.
Centuries ago, a startling event arised in the city of Apollo as a wise seer prophecised a creature from another world heading in the city's direction. Fearing that the invader might ultimately threaten the world, the citizens of Apollo began to dig up researches through ancient scrolls left by their ancestors, in the hope of finding a way in time to counter this problem.
It wasn't until years later, 3 days before the arrival of the prophecised advent, that the elders had finally came up with a theoretically acceptable solution. At the day of the event, the night was bright, consumed by rocks in flames. Most of the Apollo population were moved to somewhere far away, awaiting for the elders' words.
The wise elders of the city gathered in the city's hall. They called upon the Greek Unowns for guidance. Using the power of the unowns, the elders sang their holy enchantions and brought forth the great beast of light...
It is told throughout the ages that the elders, the unowns and the great beast, Albinos, fought together for a long time to cease the invader's advance. The citizens watched the immense light generated from the battle non-stop for days. At the end, everything seemed to have returned to the peaceful world it was. The city of Apollo was destroyed, and the people who used to live there settled somewhere far away.
The whereabouts of the city's protectors were never found out, same goes for the so called invader. Rumour has it that they sacrificed their lives to cease the "evil" one's existence.
Centuries later, another prophecy has predicted that another outer worldly being is coming to Earth. Having recently learnt of the Greek Unowns' dicovery in a Taion ruin, Helios along with his family led a team of brave warriors to search for the missing Greek Unowns, hoping to ultimately gain the knowledge to summon Albinos.
Now here's the player's part...
After finding all of the ancient ruins in Taion, Helios learns that Albinos was never destroyed/sacrificed, instead it was sealed away in a great palace in a location unknown to most humans. He questions why it was sealed, but time is short and so he rushes with the family and the team to the palace.
You will be left alone (they sucker punched you after you beat them in the ruins) and you have no idea where to go since the words carved on the ruin walls are of a very ancient language that possibly only the Apollos knew.
But later you find out that there were some really strong trainers(staff) that were able to translate these words. You have to find them, and only by defeating them, can you get a complete map that enables you to go to the palace.
Later.. The Apollos manage to summon the beast, just in the nick of time it seems, as the night sky starts to shift into a red glow(yay filters!), a giant rock clothed in flames comes rushing down the atmosphere.
Albinos, upon releasing, teleports itself out of the palace, and confronts the enormous meteorite. As the beast blasts the meteor, Helio notices a mysterious green aura surrounding the bulk, as though to protect the body from all of Albinos' attacks.
But just as he tells it, the meteorite shattered into thousands of pieces by a final blast from the beast of light...
But afterwards, something's wrong, Albinos is out of control. It absorbs the surrounding light, causing an eclipse and releases the energy which he absorbed in beam form which destroys everything it hits. You will have to confront it, and if you got nailed, Helios and his family will sacrifice themselves in order to seal up Albinos once again. If you faint it, it will simply dissappear(be destroyed) and the Apollos will apologize for all the trouble they have caused you. They will also apologize to you if you happen to capture the great beast.
Right after that event, you will watch a TV news from Hohpo which tells you about a small meteorite unexpectably landed in the Wild plant life research center (Remy's building for Reirei).
The sciensits, who barely escaped, described the meteor as a crystaline form with a strange green glow, and the glow seemed to have made all the plants in the institude to grow in an extraordinary rate, and into strange shapes.
When you get down to the PLRC, the scientists haven't dared touch the meteorite. It is surrounded by vines and trees. You use CUT to get through to it, and as you touch it, it warps you...
...You end up in a strange place, the Moon Valley. It's like a maze, but it's pretty much a line, either curved or straight.
First, there is a swamp, with currents generated by plants on either side and in the water. You sue SURF here. After the currents there is a line of vines across teh water; you use DIVE to go under.
After the swamp, there are some large tumbleweeds; you use STRENGTH to move them. Finally, there's a wall of vines, which you use HEATWAVE to burn. This covers a cave entrance.
Inside, you need FLASH. There are funky glowy fungi things. Anyway, another maze, with some of the tumbleweeds. You go up a ladder, and waiting for you there, surrounded by plants, is Reirei.
