Me and KARR have been brainstorming diligently about this new idea. Ties in with the rockets perfect. They start an artifact stealing heist in the Alph, and after *this space left blank* You keep overhearing thin...Well, I'll give you guys our whole outline. We've discussed it on MSN, and it involves Silver. And Giovanni. Now would be a good time to let KARR be allowed in this section. Making him a MOD of it won't work I don't think, cuz I was a mod of it forever, and I couldn't see it until I was a Global Mod.

Sounds like a very interesting idea. I saw how you put in blank spaces in the Rockets section of the trainer area containing:
Psychic and Grass Admin
Electric and Steel Admin
Ground and Rock Admin
Flying Admin
Dragon and Fire Admin
Poison and Bug Admin
Water and Ice Admin
Dark and Ghost Admin
Trainers that are dressed up like grunts in the Rocket Frontier (5)
If you fill me in on the details of each character, I can try my hand at a couple of the sprites.

*dances around* Okay, we'll have the full TR story soon... It... will include a meaner, even worse TR! Yup. Get ready for some real action! Not what you've gotten in GSC and RBY and FR/LG... that was pipsqueek. Wait a moment with the sprites... I thought the Admins had different types? 1/4 only have two themes... unless something was changed in the original RF plan... -Grass -Electric and Steel -Ground/Rock -Flying -Dragon -Bug -Water -Dark That's how the Admins go... I think. That's how they go on the original RF plan. Although some of their Pokemon have two types, they still have only the set theme... again, unless it was changed. Darkdog, if you want a try on the Admins, I'm encouraging you to theme them by their type, for example the Grass one to be holding a rose... and stuff like that. That would look good. Oh, yeah, and I have this funny idea that Rocket Admins have the TR logo on their right leg, as close to the top as possible... I dunno. Use the idea or not. We'll see how it comes out. Okay, KARR stop blabbing nonsense. Background on each Admin, well, they are like Gym Leaders, so maybe you'll do them as you please? But I think all should look serious and a bit menacy, but pretty/handsome. Just to make them pleasing to the eye. ;D EDIT: Here's the RF stuff, some text (clerk text and Boss text) is not what it's supposed to be anymore, but you get to see tiles and stuff.

I edited the Trainer types to add more of a challenge. Also, I need to fix up the grid yet again, to add space for Silvers Mom (Secret surprise!!) and the New Rocket boss (Maybe Giovanni's brother would be a good idea! Guiseppe!) I also got a few new ideas. Make the Electric room use the spinny slide things, like in the FRLG rocket base maze, make the front desk have the rocket sign from behind the desk in the Game Corner there, and make the water room bigger (Make every room bigger/ more difficult to get to the trainer. Make the slidey ones have dead ends with holes that put you back to the start, the Dark one have invisible floors and clues like in Morty's gym, and all have items and stuff. After you beat the admin for the first time, a teleporting tile will bring you to him right away.) and have a maze of ice and water with currents. Make some, like the fire one (add lava!!) have multiple floors, where you need to drop rocks from above to get across in certain places (Like Claires gym) Well, eleborate the maps. I edited the trainer grid and it'll be up in a few. The is Silvers Mom, and she's in Team Rocket, because that's where she falls into the plot, and that's where she may end up in the next bit of plot, when Kanto comes to shine

New Rocket boss ideas:
Giovanni's Mom (Wasn't she mentioned once?)
Innaviog (Giovanni's fraternal twin)
Mask of Ice (Like in the manga)
Also, I had an idea for the Admins; each of them could have a name related to playing cards, as well as a signature type. Specifics: King of Hearts, Queen of Hearts, King of Spades, Queen of Spades, King of Diamonds, Queen of Diamonds, King of Clubs, and Queen of Clubs. Each room could have several trainers with titles like Jack of Hearts, Three of Spades, etc. There could also be trainers that appear randomly in different rooms called Jokers. And, of course, the leader would have the official title of the Ace.

I like his brother better. And who mentioned Gio's mom? I mentioned his son and brother..and wife. The latters have other points to cover in the story, so his bro would work.

Lemme guess: Gio's wife = Silver's Mom
Gio's Son = Silver
And I meant that she was mentioned on one of the shows. I still like my playing cards idea...

Your presumption is correct.
Yeah, I do too, but they still need to be based on their respective types.
|
|
|
Post by Darkdog on Nov 9, 2004 3:41:13 GMT
They can be based on those types, but just have the titles like cards. For example, their name would be Queen of Hearts, but they would still specialize in Bug and Poison-types. Besides, otherwise they would just be "Rocket Admin", since none of the Rocket members have names.

I was thinking on taking the Magma/Aqua path and letting admins/ executives (that's what the Rocket leadership is called) to have names.

Matt's way is better, I think. I'll inmprove the Arenas later on. I think the new Rocket Boss is called Cadre. Yes, that's it. Oh-key-doke-ey. If you know French you'll understand the full meaning of the name when we reveal the full story. Okay, I hope I'll get to talk to Matt today... we must get the story ready so all the rest, sprites and stuff can be finished.

I am so confused....wouldn't it make better sense for grunts to be dressed up as trainers????? I mean, it would fool people more...as they would walk up to a normal looking person and expect something helpful, but instead they get a battle with a Grunt. It doesn't make sense the other way around. Why would normal, benevolent trainers dress up as evil grunts?

TR said they changed their ways. They are supposedly good. Just wait for the full plot.

Why do we have to wait? It's not like you and KARR are "higher officials" or anything. Just tell us! If you're not finished, we might be able to help you do so.

You have wait, cuz I'm still trying to summarize the convo. Then I neec to organize it.

One thing I know that is not right... maybe the fact of Silver's mother appearing in a cave in Hohpo should be told to the player via some phone thing? A Gym Leader or something... or a Trainer. Because the original has the news appearing on TV, but then Silver or Giovanni would see her (in theory), and... that would brake up a part of the plot.

Neh, someone could tell you they saw someone odd. In the convo, you overhear people talking about her there.

Goodie. Let's finish off the main thing, and get to work on smaller ideas, such as some long text and what item should be in the place of the Murkrow in the Abandoned Hideout.

PT TEAM ROCKET JOHTO STORYLINE TOP SECRET – FOR STAFF EYES ONLY MAIN STUFF BY MATTCGN AND KARR
Sitting well? I do hope so. This is great, scrumptious stuff. As if? Not.
- Player arrives in Johto. - Player sees on TV that the Ruins of Alph have been raiden by cloaked characters. - It is presented on TV that the scientists there have deciphered a bit of the wall text: “We Shall Exist Forever | We Hold A Secret That No Other Hold | Where To Find Three Legendary Pokemon” - When the player arrives at the Ruins of Alph the cloaked characters leave. Apparently they took some computers and made photos of the walls. - Player gets the phone number of one of the researchers. - Silver appears at the scene. He introduces himself to the player and gives them his phone number. - Silver remembers that he saw one of the cloaked people at the Goldenrod Dept. Store. - Silver goes off. - When the player arrives at the Store, Silver is there in a crowd and ‘spins’ around the cloaked character to reveal a Team Rocket Grunt. - Silver walks off when the Grunt runs away. - Silver talks to the player about TR and that they said they are good again and how it’s so suspicious now. - One of the people in the crowd says that the Grunt was selling Pokemon with funny colours. The only problem is that they have awful stats. - At the middle of the Rake of Lage… er, I mean, Lake of Rage, there is a tiny diving spot where the Red Gyarados was. One of the people on the shore exclaims that. - A tunnel goes from the diving spot… to a small underground cloning complex! That’s where TR clone Pokemon, some shiny, some not… - Silver appears and suggests investigating it. - One of the Grunts says that they steal Pokemon and clone them, and give clones to the people they steal from. - After going through the cloning lab, Silver tells the player to follow him to Mahogany. - As the player arrives in Mahogany, they see Silver entering the shop. - Inside the shop, Silver reveals a staircase to the Abandoned Hideout. - Inside the Hideout all computers don’t work except one… the Admin’s. It’s screen is flashing. It has data on hijacking the SS Millenium on it. Right next to it, where the Murkrow was, is a Nugget. - Silver comes up to the player and says he has found a ship ticket with the TR logo on it and that it says ‘Olivine Docks’ on it. He tells the player to go to Olivine and goes off. - In the Docks, Silver is standing by the SS Hydro. When the player is close, he summons the player onboard the ship. - FR/LG Seagallop-like cutscene. - Arrival at Rocket Frontier. - Silver is having a look around. - When the player gets the eight badges, they can enter the Boss’ room. - The Boss is called Cadre. He introduces himself to the player and tells his story (Giovanni left, blah, he was the best Admin, blah, he became Boss, blah). Then the battle commences. - When the player wins the battle with Cadre, Giovanni appears. He commands Cadre to give his postion back, but Cadre refuses. Then Silver blobs in and argues with his father. He says he wants to find his mother and that Giovanni shouldn’t become the Boss again. Then they go off on their search. - Cadre tells the player that even the player cannot stop Team Rocket. - Now the player can go back to Olivine. They can use the SS Hydro to get to the RF whenever they want to. - On the News on TV they say that the SS Silph and SS Millenium, exact sister-ships, have been hijacked by unknown people. The crews were found on the shore in Vermilion in a escape boat. - The Ruins of Alph researcher calls the player with news that they have decoded the rest of the wall writing: “In A Town Called Ecruteak There Are Two Towers | One Holds Lugia | The Other Ho-oh | In The Tower Of Lugia Down In The Deeps Are The Pokemon | Entei | Raikou | Suicune”. - A crowd assembles at the Burned Tower and Morty and Eusine explain to them that the Pokemon have escaped long ago. - Player beats Johto. - Player is somehow informed about a mysterious person somewhere in Hohpo. - Player meets the person, who just says their name: Cofra. - When the player wins the battle, Cofra gains their trust and asks if they have ever met her son: Silver. - Cofra notices that the player has Silver’s phone number. Cofra calls him, and he says he’s in the Rocket Frontier, investigating. - Cofra asks the player to go find him and tell him where she is, because Silver seemed busy and in a hurry. - At the RF, one of the rocks separating the main port with the Hideout part is now Rock Smashable. - There are now three ships on the shore: the SS Jane, SS Silph and SS Millennium. Grunts block the way into them. The Silph and Millennium Grunts explain that the ships are being made ready to carry masses to the RF. - There is an entrance to the Hideout near. - Inside, the player cannot go far. There is a locked (and never-openable) door at some point. In the accessible area, Silver is hiding among boxes. - The player talks to Silver and Silver goes off to meet his mother. - In the place in Hohpo, Cofra and Silver are talking. They explain their story: Cofra was Giovanni’s wife. When Giovanni made TR, she divorced him because she didn’t like it. Because of all that, Silver ran away. - Player receives gift from Cofra. - Giovanni appears. - Cofra tells Giovanni to go away. - Giovanni says that no-one will find him. - Giovanni disappears. - Cadre can be battled again. He has been informed that Giovanni went to Hoenn. - Cofra and Silver are now in the Goldenrod Underground and Silver just talks the playes, while Cofra will sell some hold items.
Wasn’t that great? Heheheh.

It wasn't awesome I would change somethings.... Like the Giovanni and Silver part... THat father son storyline is kind of stupid.
Instead of having one big leader of TR I like having just a bunch of leaders of smaller factions. A big leader would suggest unity in TR... which I now thik of them as a loose organizations.
I don't like the GIovanni and Confra storyline... KInd of soap operaish. (opera with and ish)
It is kind of scattered for the beginning of Johto... They can't fly to those places yet so you might want to make it all start in Goldenrod.
That different color, but horrible stats is kind of stupid... The game rarely talks of stats. Why not chagne it from stats to "They may be different colors, but they don't listen to anyone!"
Is there going to be a phone in this game?

Hmm... I can think of a few changes for Silver's history.
When he was VERY young, his father disappeared during a storm. Believing him dead, his mother was incredibly disheartened, and did nothing but grieve for years life. Embittered by the loss of his father, Silver grew up to be a snotty brat. When they heard of the disbanding of Team Rocket and the fact that Giovanni was the leader, both him and his mother were both glad that he was alive but incredibly disapointed that he disappeared again. When Team Rocket reformed three years later, Silver ran away from home to defeat Team Rocket and find his father. That was why he was so insistent on handling Team Rocket by himself. When Gold defeated Team Rocket and revealed that Giovanni had never returned, Silver decided to return home to his mother. Upon arriving, he discovered that his mother had disappeared years ago while he was on his journey. Completely miserable, he realized that "the path of goodness" was the way to go. But still, he had nothing to do, so retreated from society to train for years like his father. When he heard that the supposedly reformed Team Rocket had returned, he came back to investigate...

Instead of having one big leader of TR I like having just a bunch of leaders of smaller factions. A big leader would suggest unity in TR... which I now thik of them as a loose organizations. It's a bit like the feudal system. There are leaders of smaller parts (the Admins) and a big leader, who actually is liked and respected (respect? In Team Rocket?) by the other members. Darkdog, good ideas there. But I'd change the storm to a journey to the Seafoam Islands. REMY, we don't really need buildings (unless you want to make the ones we have for it nicer) but we need insides. On page one of this thread, I have posted the eight Arena interiors and below it Matt posted suggestions for changes. Now, the Arenas of mine aren't that good and type fitting, so a bit higher (I think it was Darkdog) posted the types of the Admins, thus themes of the Arenas. Think you could do that? It would be super!

Not too good? Crap, and that took alot of time to think up. Oh well, now everyone can help us work on it BB, about the places you can't get to yet, there is still a little skip in the game between them. Like, you're in the Ruins, you find out whatever, and when you GET to Goldenrod it continues. And so on. Nice ideas Darkdog. It helps the plot alot.

Yeah. This isn't the full Johto storyline, it's just the part which involves TR. Like, the TR part in GSC. It was indifferent places and you had to get to them, right?
