What's the most important thing for playing a Java game? Having Java on your comp! If you'd like to help out, or even just play with the builds, this tutorial is for you. It is located here: ptreasures.net/xfiles/bonzairob/tutorials/java/If you have any problems with it, just let me know! Mac and Linux tutorials to follow, though Macs have Java installed as standard.

Linux has Java installed as standard too, but possibly not version 1.6 .
Edit: The game also works with SUN Java SDK 1.5, so that's not a problem.

I'm having problems. I downloaded JDK 6u1 and got all the way down to step 8 but it won't recognize the javac battle.java command. I have a folder in C:\ named java with battle.java inside the folder and I didn't get any errors. The only thing I can think of is that I'm using Windows 98 and it says it would work best with Windows 2000 and up. Is that my problem or I'm I missing something?

I'd say that probably is the problem.. I'll do some research and get back to you. It may be that only versions up to a certain number will work with 98.

I'm on my parent's computer which has Windows XP and still the command javac battle.java is not recognized. Maybe that the new version I'm using (JDK 6u1) changed the old command to something else. I'm not sure what, though.
