Pokemon Omega is actually available for download and is open 24/7. I'll give you some more info on Pokemon Omega, PO for short.
Pokemon Omega is a MMORPG that one of my friends created. I was looking on youtube.com for some Pokemon MMO's and I found the vid for PO. I looked everywhere for the link to the site but I couldn't find it. Then I checked another forums website and they had the link to the website.
I copied the link and pasted it into the address bar. Once I got to the site I was amazed by how many people were registered. I looked all over the forums to try to find a link that will let me play the game. I had to download the game but there was no download link.
I noticed that the creator of the game had a msn account so I added him and asked him for the link. He kindly gave me the link and soon enough I was playing PO on my computer.
It was actually like the video. You get to play as a Pokemon! I chose Cyndaquil because he was my favorite out of the list of starters. I made my account, got on PO and I met the creator on the game. He had a Jirachi sprite and his friend had a Machamp sprite. I was the only mortal there.
They helped me get started and they helped me gain some levels while I trained. He was very kind. As the creator of the game, he had all access to the game and to the programming, but what he didn't have was the ability to have the game run 24/7.
After a while the creator had to leave on a vacation to England. He left his most trustworthy friend in charge while he was gone. About 2 days after he left on vacation, the forums website got hacked by someone. The hacker changed almost every single detail about the forums. He demoted all of the administrators to normal rank. No one was able to save the forums.
The creators friend had some kind of program that would destroy the forums site. Everyone who tried to warn everyone else about the hacker, including me, got permanently banned. No one was able to help gain control of the forums, so the creators friend held up until the creator came back.
Luckily the creator was able to regain control of the forums. He posted the new link to the new forums. After the creator posted the link to the new forums his best programmer returned to help. The programmer was the best programmer on PO. While the creator was gone he made a copy of the server. It worked perfectly and nothing went wrong. The programmer made it so that the server will stay on 24/7.
Everyone enjoyed the server until the creator came back and had a fight with the programmer about the server. Also about the banned people being unbanned and about the server beong an anti-kick/anti-ban server. They came to a resolve and made it so that the old server is the official server and that the 24/7 would be a backup for when the official was down. I still map on the 24/7 server becauseit's a server where I can do all of my mapping and hopefully finish my village.
Anyways, the game is really cool. You get to play as Pokemon, you get to fight wild Pokemon like ratatta's, Ekans', and sometimes Blastoise's. Also the chat is good too. The Arena battles are amazing because you can see their battle and you can try to find out their strategies and how good they are.
Also the Admin Hosted events are great! The most recent one that I know of was the Token Event where every Pokemon you hit will die in one hit and they will drop 1 token. You can exchange the tokens for TM's you can use instead of a physical attack. The Admins and Programmer are working on other TM's anyone can use. Some of the TM's you get have stat restrictions, and other TM's can only be used if your an Admin or higher.
There are many places you can explore in PO, especially some secret areas which anyone can access any time they want to. The reason why their secret is because they are well hidden. There are many different Pokemon you can see on PO. Actually if your lucky enough you might be able to see some of the legendary sprites being used by the admins. One common legendary sprite you'll see is the Suicune sprite. An uncommon one is Entei.
Pokemon Omega is an awesome game. If you look up Pokemon Lost Shadows (the old name) you'll find thre videos titled Pokemon Lost Shadows. One is an arena battle, one is a tour hosted by the creator, and the last one is about someone who was stuck on PO, or PLS, whatever it was called back then.
When I started playing the game I was either a lvl 5 Cyndaquil or a lvl 1 Cndaquil, but after a while of training I am now a lvl 43 Typhlosion! Mostly me and a small group of staff members still play PO ever since the forums got hacked. It would be very much appreciated if you would join PO and play it.
If you have any questions about the game feel free to send me a message. I also have msn. If you need the download then just add me on msn or you can give me your email address and i'll send it to you by email with some basic controls such as running, attacking, talking, global talking, adding friends, items and anything else. I'll try to get some screenshots if you wanna see it before you download it.
