As you could guess, this is going to be a fan-made Pokemon Stadium for the Windows XP. I plan on making this a full 3-D adventure, complete with Pokemon from all over the gaming world (I plan on adding Pokemon from Pokemon Treasures if it is OK with the staff). I plan on doing the following things:
-Program will be made by DarkBASIC Pro, a 3d game engine -Complete with Pokecup, Primecup, Mastercup, and Daycarecup (level 5) -Pokemon from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Taion(with permission), and other regions, including my own -Can get certain legendaries in rental box by beating certain cups
This is my basic overall plan for the game. I appreciate everyone's support and help, but so far this is just an Idea, as I don't have the proper tools yet (The closest thing I have to DarkBASIC is 3D gamemaker, which isn't so good at Pokemon battles)
I appreciate all comments.

From what I've seen it's a bad idea to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Not to mention that creating a 3D game takes crazy amounts of work, and will be near impossible to do if you're a beginning programmer. I'd stick to something simple before biting off more than you can chew.
Also, I seriously doubt that the PT team would allow you to use Taion's Pokémon.

Start small, with say five pokémon. If we like what we see, you might be able to use our pokémon, but it's doubtful. Spazzup is right :/

Hey, spazzup, as far as certain things are considered, there are a few things I would like to point out: #1-Darkbasic is the second most easiest software to create games (the first is 3d gamemaker), as it has a simple language, and it compiles stuff for you, not like most software. #2-I am a wiz at computers, and a multitasker. I do things at my best when I do something else at the same time.

Well, don't forget that even Nintendo needs a lot of time to finish one game, and they're working on it with a big team. I'm not saying that you can't make your game, but it wll be very hard, and unlikely.
Like Bonzai said, start small.

In case anyone did not notice it, I did happen to mention that this is just an Idea. I do not intend to get started on it right away, as I don't have the proper software or anything. It still is a pretty good Idea, isn't it?

Ideas don't make a game, as is evident by PT's nearly 3-year streak of nearly zero game progress.

Yeah, you're probably right. Making ideas and leaving them in the dust is a habit of mine. My point is, I plan on making this idea a reality; I just don't have the proper materials yet to do it.

Well, you don't need that much "materials". Just hands, a computer, brains and time. That's what you need to make a game. What are you missing?

A little something called DarkBASIC Pro (aka, the software)

I know you think you need that, but that's not true. You can make a game without it. I'm not saying you can't use it, but waiting (or hoping) 'till you get something to make your game won't get it finished. We did the same, we wanted to use PO's engine, but it was never finished. That's why we started making our own, 3 years or so after the start of this project.

What exactly is PO's engine?

Pokemon Online was the name of the online engine we were gonna use. It, in that form, no longer exists but lots of people use the name now.

Ok. Hey, by the way, how do they make those other fan games like Pokemon Twilight, or Pokemon Amethyst? I think they use java, but I am not so sure.

Either Java, RPGMaker, or they edit ROMs.

You could use C++ too of course, which doesn't hurt your game's speed (but does make it quite OS-dependent).

Hey, guess what I got for Christmas! I got a grant from my parents to get a free purchase of DarkBasic Pro, so this game can be a reality after all! The internet kicked me off, so I couldn't tell you guy's. Hey, by the way, do you guys think that it would be alright if I used your Pokemon in the demo version of Pokemon Stadium XP? Seeing as I had asked before, I thought that it would be nice that the demo that I would show to you guys would have your Pokemon in it. If the answer is a yes, here was my idea for the demo: -it is a single battle -there are six pokemon instead of three (like in the Poke-cups in the original game) -your six Pokemon include Pumavine(grass), Smolderen(Fire), Shartal(Water), Dynamoose(Electric), Toxator(Prehistoric), and Albinos(Legendary) -your opponent will have Pokemon from around the world (including from my fangames, Volcano/Glacier version). These Pokemon are Meganium(grass), Combustiosaur(fire), Empoleon(water), Pikachu(electric), Tyrannorule(prehistoric), and Pyronix(legendary) -more information on the ones from Volcano/Glacier will come up in due time.

Toxator's not prehistoric Like I said before, show us a 3D version of ne of our pokémon, and we'll decide then. Ok?

That's fine. I still have to get DarkBasic, but stuff like this still is a possibility. By the way, do you know some software that can allow a person to create 3d sprites?

Another possibility would be to use blender. It's the only decent open-source and free 3D-modelling application I know. I've never used it though.

Thanks for that. I happen to have a freebee version of Blender on my computer, so I'll get started right away!
