Thanks to the much-appreciated help of Poryhedron, the finished pokémon from the site and the board are migrating into the wikidex. But, Pory brought up the mention of balance - how many Normal types do we have? I mean pokémon like Rattata and Pidgey and Sentret, that could be found in any grassy spot. There aren't many, are there? Most of the PT pokémon are Special types. So, since we're listing pokémon in-game by name and not number for now, shall we start making up some more normal pokémon too?

Why not? I'd say, the more pokémon, the better (now, don't make about 5 million of them. I couldn't ever catch them all.)

Sure, we could bump up the roster a bit, but I think Cuddles is currently in charge of Pokemon, some of the ones you are adding may already be scrapped ><

You're the one who always chooses if a Pokemon is scrapped or not, and you always seem to have the most recent allinone sheet.

I noticed there was a squirrel pokémon in one of the lists, and I haven't seen any squirrelly things in all-in-one sheets. So let's see, what is tehre ususally? Something Normal and small (Rattata, Sentret, Zigzagoon, Poochyena), some Bugs (Caterpie, Weedle, Ledyba, Spinda, Wurmple, maybe Nincada), and something Flying (Pidgey, Spearow, Hoothoot, Taillow).
Species wise, that's.. rats, meercats?, racoons, hyenes, wolves, caterpillars, worms, butterflies, bees/wasps, ladybirds, pidgeons, sparrows, owls and swallows. Let's see now... A squirrel could work quite well... maybe ferrets/stoats, mice... wild cats? Snails or slugs for the 'dark' bug, maybe some sort of moth. Hoverflies, a 'real' bee. Cuckoos, magpies, crows.
I think out of those I like Moths at night and Bees in the day, maybe a crow that comes out at night against a Magpie in the day, and... Mice at night with Wildcats in the day. How does that sound? The Mice should have high Speed, the Crows can be Dark type (like Poochyena/Mightyena).
Bees: Larva, Pupa, Bee Moths: Larva, Pupa, Moth Wildcats: Ocelot/Lynx/Puma (we get a lot of rumours about wild pumas in this country) Mice: Small mouse with big ears, maybe to one with HUGE ears Magpies: Small chick to graceful thing like Swellow Crows: Scruffy chick to soemthing like Pigeot, but only 2 stages.
If everyone likes these ideas I'll carry on making the things.

Isn't Eevee a Squirrel?
Anyways, I think it would be very good if you'd make these pokémon. Go ahead.

I'm all for more pokemon, and there definitely need to be pokemon like rattata, pidgey, etc. "Mice: Small mouse with big ears, maybe to one with HUGE ears" ^ that gave me the idea for this pokemon, I don't know what it would evolve into, but it is cute. Just an idea though, it dosen't have to be used. Edit: and a baby crow... "Scruffy chick" Just a rough scetch.

Well let's add some normal ones then Hey, i just had an idea.. instead of moths, which has been done a lot in pokémon, fireflies FirefliesConcept: Attracted to moonlight, rear end glows Names: Glorva, Luncoon, Photusca Glorva: GLORVA only appear at night. This is thought to be because the chemical that makes their abdomens glow is somehow related to moonlight. Lunoon: Because of their tendency to glow at night, and their handy shape, LUNCOON are often used by wandering travellers instead of a lantern. Photusca: PHOTUSCA swarm in forests whenever there is a full moon. They perform a complicated dance which is said to ensure that the moon will become full again. The chemicals they use are revitalised by this. No worse than Ledyba, right? I'll sketch them all out. I like MLS' mouse sketch so: MiceNames: Maudi, not sure Concept: Timid, good hearing, speedy Maudi: MAUDI's ears are always twitching, even when it is asleep. It always stays alert for danger. Although it has good night vision, it mainly uses its ears. Its tail uncurls as a warning of danger. Other one: [name ] is among the fastest POKéMON yet to be discovered. It can travel up to the speed of sound. When it does this, it flattens its large ears back to protect them from the sonic boom.

Also, what do you think of the other fakemon design I made? I'm glad you like the mouse.

I always wondered if a Pokemon could evolve depending on what Pokemon's in your party, Lunatone or Solrock.
Heee.

Well, you could always make up a new one for that, I don't think the fireflies should evolve like that I like the other sketch too, MLS, just couldn't think of anythign to write about it at the time. Making what, 15 pokémon all at the same time is hard.

Here's one for the ladies: the top set of wings on Mhotusca are whatever colour the body is (dark grey, green or brown I think) and the under ones are transparent. Glorva should be a lighter colour. The tails/abdomens should be light yellow, and look shiny but like they're glowing. Luncoon's legs don't do anything, they're just spheres/circles. Btb, these can be Bug/Light. Gorva > lv 7 > Luncoon > lv 9 > Photusca. Moves to follow. MagpiesConcept: Like shiny things. Final stage has crystals in wings, but isn't Crystal type (learns a few moves though). Noisy. Names: Chapica, Chacora, Chastal (Cha as in chatter, pica is old english for bird, where pie comes from, cora from their family Corvidae, and stal from crystal.) Chapica: Because it constantly chatters away to itself, CHAPICA can make forests very noisy. It is attracted to shiny objects, and will take anything it finds back to its nest. Chacora: A CHACORA will collect shiny objects and drape them on the tree where it makes its nest, to attract a mate. If it cannot find the objects it needs, it will occasionally steal from humans. Chastal: The colourful patterns on a CHASTAL's wing are made by the feathers themselves being coated with crystalline dust. The shinier the wing looks, the healthier the POKéMON. Chapica: A fat, small magpie with a silver beak. It's tail should be long and thin like a magpie. Chacora: A slimmer magpie, more like a Swellow, with silver strings draped on its wings and tail. Beak still silver, wings slightly green on the inside. Chastal: A large bird like Pigeot, the wings should be spread, showing a pattern in blue/green with little points of white shine. Chapica > lv 10 > Chacora > lv 26 >Chastal All Normal/Flying Moves to follow CrowsConcept: a little scruffy, belligerent chick into something that mobs other birds but looks pretty cool. The organised gangster of the pokémon bird world. Names: Crogin, Ranin (Hugin and Munin, norse ravens who followed Odin around making snide remarks, + crow and raven). Crogin: Despite its cute looks, CROGIN has an unpleasant, belligerent nature. It often picks fights with CHAPICA for no reason. To stun its prey, it will hit it with the hard star on its head. Ranin: RANIN often group together in order to mob creatures many times their size. However, fights often break out within groups, so they do not stay together for long afterwards. Crogin: We have a picture Ranin: The star on its head is smaller, it is very sleek and nice-looking. Black, obviously. Looks evil. Crogin > lv19 > Ragin

Nice, Luncoon bothers me though. It looks like a bug in the shape of a cocoon. XD I'd like to try design some of these fakemon. Edit: Crogin Art (I love pixel arts. ) The shading was hard to do, and I might change the colors.

Still open to suggestions?Ideas for some early appearing Normal types or Bugs. Quinda - The Great Panda Pokemon Qina - The Red Panda Pokemon Despite it's classification, not that great. Just a non-evolving Normal type that you meet early in the game. Later on it can be bred to gain a new Baby Pokemon, Qina. Type: Normal Wignat - The Earwig Pokemon Type: Bug Pretty basic Weedle/Caterpie parallel. Knows Vice Grip to begin with and nothing else, with low stats in everything, except for above average attack. Evolves early. Gnatite - The Glow Worm Pokemon Type: Bug/Electric Basic Cocoon Pokemon. Doesn't do much, but gains Electric type (stores it for evolution). Chargnat - The Firefly Pokemon Type: Bug/Electric Weak to medium Bug/Electric type. Perhaps has Compound Eyes. Might learn a few Light attacks as well. Felynx - The Wild Cat Pokemon Early-encounter Wild Cat Pokemon. Probably learns Assist. Feralynx - Feral Cat Pokemon Evolution of Felynx. Has Limber or Guts, perhaps?

Those are very good sketches, but I'm not sure we're looking for anything else.. although saying that, it has just been me doing this stuff I like the wildcats, but they've got very similar features to Skitty - no doubt that was the intention Wasn't what I had in mid when I was making them though. The pandas are cool, Those could definitely be added, but perhaps not as low-level encounters. More like Meditite/Medicham level maybe, we could change them to Psychic types. Ok, sketch time! This time, I dug out a sketchbook and used the ancient medium of pencil and paper. I need to start doodling more often, my drawing ability has gone down the pan.. saying that, these didn't come out too bad, apart from some of the feet. Like it says, I like MLS' Crogin much better. I was just going for a different angle, but it ended up looking different altogether. I'm happy with how Mauvelo came out, not sure about Maudi. The magpies look too realistic to me though, I think we'll have to make their eyes and beaks bigger, and definitely make them more colourful than real magpies are. Blues and greens.

Just so you know, there are reincarnations of ratata/raticate in every region Ratata/Raticate Sentret/Furret Zigzagoon/Linoone Bidoof/Bibarel. It's a good thing you thought of this before creating the game if you want to follow tradition. Good pics! Maybe you could make a one stage normal type that you can catch weak near the beginning and strong near the end. Just an idea.

Pokedrawerz, yes, that's exactly what we're doing BB, good point. Forget Psychic. Still, I think it'd be better to save them for later on (the more mountainous places are later in the game - and we do have REMY's bamboo sprites). That way, we can give them good stats too. Normals are at a big type disadvantage, so they gain in other ways - Chansey's ridiculous special and HP stats, Tauros has high speed and attack, and so on. MLS, I was doing it in a different position, and sort of trying to make it look more like Mauvelo (which I drew first) - but it didn't work XD We're using yours. We can add the earwig ones along with the other bugs - I was focusing on day/night, but those guys could go either time really. Although it would mean two firefly pokémon, unless we scrap Photusca's line. Maybe they could be later encounters too? I'm fine with using those wildcats too, although they'd need another stage to match up with my ideas. I can add that, or leave it to you, if you don't mind adding it (in a way, it makes sense that the original cat would have 3 stages, and the domesticated Skitty would lots a stage to be more, uh, user-friendly).
