Ok, a liitle break from Unowns: I'm so happy w/ this one that I didn't make any cuts yet I'm so proud of myself Edit: BuffyBoy, I'm workin on Bronarl now and I have a question. Are his legs the same kind of thing as Brearls w/ a little toe thing, or are the longer and folded over? I can't really tell from the sprite Edit 2: ^^That didn't even make sence just describe his legs then <-- you guys are right, this is so totaly addicting Edit 3: two more Unown...

Alrighty, then here is bronarl so far... it doesn't really do any justice to brearl. at all. it looks more like humpty dumpty until I add the neck and head. Also I am just about out of room, there will be more once its cut, but it will have to be a big cut if you want a lot of neck tell me if this is basically how it's sposed to look

You're putting in way more than you need to. Back sprites are of backs. RARELY do we see the legs. Cut the sprite in half and work with the upper torso. If you still need room on the neck, then just cut the torso more.

Yes, take Tropius for example. Its back sprite is only of its neck and head

Ah, I see what you guys are talking about, instead of doing the whole back and cutting to fit, I zoom up more on the head/neck area, gotcha. Edit: Ok, I tried out what you said, and I think it came out very well. It made it a lot easier making the head (which I just could not get before )

I really like that Bronarl back sprite as it shows off the neck's flexibility. You may want to touch up that Light shading on the side of the neck (near the left). Towards where the neck curves it looks like the shading ends abruptly.

Is this what yout talking about? is that good, or should I go all the way down the neck, or is that even the place you were talking about? Edit: Also I just made an 'official' cut for brearl so that later when the game is being finished we dont have 10 people cutting off at different spots

Smooth it out some and it'll be perfect.
Ah, good to see you got to cutting Brearl.

Ok, here he is a little bit smoothed out (I tried smoothing out the outline on the neck and stuff more, but it would always just make it look worse, so all I did was smooth out shading) Edit: I was just looking through some files and I came across thses guys: I've tried to put on the fire, but I have failed. I'm sure I could do it if I sat here and played around w/ it for a looong time, but I'm too lazy, so If somebody who is gifted with the ability to sprite fire would add it, it would be greatly appreciated Here are the front sprites for reference origanally done by Sneasel:

Actually, I think they look good without the fire. Unless the flames are supposed to be constantly burning (like Ponyta's mane or charmander's tail) then these could work. Not all Fire Pokemon have their flames continuously burning (look at cyndaquil), so I think it's a good look.

They look perfectly fine as-is. Thanks a lot for all your help, ET! I'd never be able to do these backs! ;D

No Problemo Sneasel, I was very surprised at how well they came out aswell. Anyway here is another Unown: There is only one more left, I believe, if we include the one ToTo did, its the one that is like a 'Y' with the line that is going down crossing the 'V' part and going further up.

I believe it's Upsilon. I've gotten a little rusty on all the Greek letters. It's been a few months.

Ok, I'll try to do those guys, also I am going to try to fix up Unown Beta, I've figured out a method that gives the unowns the correct width for the lines that is a lot easier than what I've been doing. Edit: Ok here is my first attempt to modify Beta: (1st one is new) I wasn't looking at the front sprite, so I was just guessing, but I think thats about what the curve is suposed to be. Edit 2: Ahhh... done!

the annons are really good i just think that maybe it would look better if you delete the black lines of the ball like this

Good idea, but I dont think it will work out. Take these official Unown, Y, X, and U for example: Y has all black lines, while X has none and U has a combination. Some lined in black, some not. They all look like they have the lines at 100%, though, which I think they are supposed to. Otherwise there would be no definition from where the 'limbs' branch out from the eye. I think that we could replace the black with the next darkest color on some areas so its not as, dark, but I think there needs to be some definition.

Ok here is my first attempt at a sprite in awhile: Seerion at the suggestion of Buffy Boy. I don't think its that good, but I tend to be too harsh on myself sometimes so what do you all think? Edit: I have no clue why I'm even posting this, its soo bad, I just felt in the mood to sprite:-X: I don't know what it looks like its doing, sorta in a dead fish position exept its eyes are open and not X's

they are great i tried to do storain but it didn't turned up the way i wanted yours is great but i think that you need to add it a little of its body it is only the head so it looks a little like raimor and about seerion i think that we suppose to see a little from it black face and maybe one of its eyes its suppose to be in 45 degrees or somthing like that still i couldnt do it better great job
