Yes! I didn't play the game, so I wrote a prologue!
Fateful Encounter - Prologue
Joanne, a young Pokemon trainer had received a blimp ticket from her parents so she could go to Taion and fulfill her dreams of getting at least eight badges.
Joanne knew that it was hard to get badges. But, she wasn’t scared of it at all. Why? Well, Joanne got a lovely birthday present: a Pokemon. That Pokemon became her best friend, because Joanne was very unpopular at school: she was considered a nerd, and heard many comments that she is ‘too smart’. But that didn’t discourage her. She’d show her school colleagues how great she was!
The day arrived. The day that Joanne and her Umbreon were to go to Taion! The blimp was the best way to go there: the islands that she lived on were close to Taion, but geographically isolated. They weren’t some lower civilization islands, oh no, they were purely normal.
The blimp was big and grey, and had a large Pokemon Navigator ad.
“Heh, I don’t need something like a Pokenav. I’ve got something better!” muttered Joanne to herself.
She waved goodbye to her parents after exchanging kisses, and got onto the ‘big, gas-filled cigar’.
Inside, she sat down, fastened her seat belt, and took her Poketop out of her backpack. She knew there were no restrictions because this wasn’t her first flight. The Poketop welcomed her with it’s little tune confirming activation and Joanne flopped it into tablet-PC mode and took out the stylus.
“Let’s see if there’s anything interesting on,” whispered Joanne to her Poketop not expecting any reply whatsoever.
She pressed the QNews icon and slowly read the news. When she was on the point of a person catching a oversized Gyarados fishing on Cobalt Coast, a boy, the same age as her, sat down next to her.
“Hey, you have a Poketop too! Um, I’m Darry,” introduced himself the boy. He had nice, not too long brown hair and glasses. He had very odd clothing: a black shirt and trousers from an odd synthetic material.
“Yeah, hey, I’m Joanne. Weird question, but do you like computers?”
“Let me think… Yes. Should I prove it?”
“I believe you, but it would be funny”
“I don’t really think so… Did You know? Silph are developing a special arm-on machine to help throw Pokeballs?”
“Realy? Never heard of it… How do You know anyway?”
“Hehehe… My grandfather is the head, owner, boss of Silph.”
“Now I get it. Hey, Your clothes are odd. If it’s not hurting you…”
“Not at all. They’re special. They look plain but I assure you they aren’t.”
“I’d actually say they look cool… Anyway, why are You going to Taion? And why where You here?”
“Oh, I came here to my school friend for a day, I came today morning, and I’m going to Taion to get more badges! I’ve got twenty-four already…”
“Wow! I haven’t got any yet… I’m going to get some…”
“Do You have a Pokemon?”
“Why, yes, I have an Umbreon!”
“That’s a good Pokemon.”
“I got it from my parents as a birthday present! It’s my best friend, because I don’t have any friends at school…”
“I seem to have the same problem. I only have one friend at school.”
“Well, then, why can’t we be friends? That would be cool. Maybe You could teach me about Pokemon… I know the very basics needed, but I know there’s a lot more to it… What’s Your star Pokemon? If You have some many badges, I assume You have many Pokemon.”
“Your deduction is correct! I have many. But my star is also my first Pokemon: Espeon!”
“We should have a battle! I should win… I have a type advantage…”
“Type advantage or not, my Espeon can beat your Umbreon. I’m nearly sure.”
“Why? Psychic attacks have little effect on Dark Pokemon…”
“I’ll admit to it: my Espeon is exceptional. It is extremely powerful.”
“Oh…”
“Well, then, I have an idea: why don’t we go to get the badges together?”
“That’s a great idea!”
The fast blimp just ended landing and the two new friends switched off their Poketops. They didn’t even know how wonderful their adventure together would be…
