YES ... I have a question here. What ever happened to all those oh-so-cool and mightily awesome cries I made? They got swiped off my HD awhile ago, I have no clue why. I remember I did 20-30 or so - quite a bunch. Actually the only one I still have is Adumbrion's cry :/ so I was just wondering if anybody has any of them leftover

Yeah, but I mean what old ones do we have? Do we have any leftover. To be quite frank, I HAVE NO IDEA how I made those cries, I sort of forgot. I also admit that only a few were good quality. The rest weren't that great, unfortune-nately. HMM... And then there were those cries that Fwiffo made that all sounded somewhat similar to Yanma's cry. (at least in my POV, but actually, some were excellent)
... I still have Fwiffo's cries. lol. But not mine.

Weren't they uploaded to the site?

Yeah erm .. I found only about 7 of them under /pokemon/cries good thing too, I made already two edits to Plumenade's cry and Dolphina's cry. I think my ears bled when I heard my cries! *well, it was almost 1.5 years ago, but still, those cries didnt sound too nice to me. So I fixed them up, I'm not sure if those cries will ever be great, but I know they sound more electronic and better now. You can find them uploaded in that same directory now. Well, ok, 3 more NEW AND IMPROVED cries is a start to a new beginning, I guess. What ever happened to Fwiffo anyways? EDITË: I am not 100% sure if I am allowed to link to the site, but ok .. heres the HTTP URL ptreasures.net/pokemon/cries/RDSClubNEW/and u can choose from there. Also I was thinking of changing the pitch lower for every cry, because when the PokéMon gets weaker usually the cry becomes lower too - I remember that from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald and maybe FR/LG ... i think. I also read something about cry effects that Mattgcn wrote about - I could try that too.

Of course you can link the site. No problem.

Ok. good. Because I am not sure if my recollection is correct, but I seem to remember that we ... or maybe just I wasn't allowed to link ... :/ EDIT: I did Shartal. I found sumfin called bitcrusher inside my MIDI program which makes the cry sound .... all bitsy. link: www.ptreasures.net/pokemon/cries/RDSClubNEW/SHARTAL.wav

Yeah, I realized the faint cries won't work. I dont know about fancy scripts tho ... so my bad. I can delete the folder. EDIT for Bonzai: I didnt know that GB had bitcrusher !! unfair. New Cry Update: I got and modified Dolphina's cry. Not as Bitsy as Shartal's, but I still think it is quite an improvement!

I guess that you couldn't consider what you did a "bump" but nevertheless this is a somewhat old topic. Umm, I don't make cries how Nintendo or whatever does. They use different signals mixed together etc ... very complicated. I try to make mine sound like them, but .. -I record my voice and edit it in different sound programs, adding blips, beeps, pitch changers, all that stuff.
edit: 200th post!

You could always try the Fwiffo method of basically raping the Nintendo cries. They sounded more authentic.
I loved your Petital though ^_^

Are you sure it was Petital that you loved?
I believe that was one of the remarks made by an old staff member. The quote isn't exact, but it was something along those lines.

um, I thought it would be appropriate to post in here that the Phrostom cry is done (from scratch). I might "rape" some of Nintendo's cries in the near future, but I experimented with something for Phrostom's cry. (it actually doesnt have to be phrostom's cry, I just chose it because it seemed to fit). I think it sounds better than the rest of the the cries. It is under the usual cry directory. I need some feedback before I start other cries using the same method. **also, for FMY, it is a .ogg file

Great news. I finally discovered how Nintendo makes their cries. It's alot simpler than I / we once thought. There isn't any need to have expensive machines etc... anyways, I'm not posting the way they do it here, just because there is the slightest chance I am wrong. So I don't want to look like a fool >_<

Hm. Ok. Here's the theory. They create sounds using a formula and editing waveform and the spectrum...blah blah blah. They add effects, edit again, add more effects, edit again. The sounds could also be made using a sampler of some sort. So. Yes, a sampler is expensive equipment, but I had previously thought there were MANY more machines / modules etc... doing the job. I still can't make "official" Nintendo cries, but it's nice to know i have a plausible theory about how they do it. ^^; -I made Phrostom's cry using a similar method. AND ... all cries, including the recently added Voltic, are now in .ogg format.

lol. thats another secret. oh, the .ogg files crashed. i converted them, but they are broken links in the directory. i can try again soon. the cries are somewhere in the old site (not the test.ptreasures etc...), i think under the /pokemon directory. i forgot.
