Where can I download the game?
It's not finished yet; that's what these forums are about. The demo is here. Now read on.
1. What is this game being made with?
This game is being made with Java and GTGE. It is only in the very early stages of coding right now, so there are few real screenshots available. If you would like to help out, feel free to ask FMY in the Scripting forum. There are some screenshots in the Taion Maps thread in the Map forum.
2. What kind of game will it be?
This is an online Pokémon game. It also has three regions and will be very challenging to beat. It will have many surprises as well.
3. How many Pokémon will there be?
There are around 120 new Pokémon in the game. Nintendo pokémon will be added if needed for copyright reasons - but there will be some. Other new Pokemon may be available if a Global Trade system is created for other games using the PT engine.
4. Are there new types?
There are three new types: Light, Wind, and Crystal. These new types will be thoroughly introduced.
5. When is the game slated for release?
The game currently has no defined release, other than that there will be three main versions:
•V1: One region, full game.
•V2: New region added, and global trades and mail.
•V3: All three regions available, see other players online.
This all depends on how quickly we get things done. We all have lives outside of this forum, so we aren't working on it 24/7. However we are very faithful to this game and are very determined to get it done when we want it to be finished. There should be at least a demo early in 07.
6. Why should we be interested in the project?
We're trying something innovative with this engine in general. Creating both a clientwide and serverwide environment for a game created by fans. We're also attempting several things that would revolutionise how it works. Seasons and weather. Four times of day. Customisable clothing for your trainer. Trading between games with different Pokémon and types, etc.
7. What other new things can we expect?
You can expect new types, new places, better graphics, new moves, new abilities and some other tidbits. And a bunch of stuff we can't reveal just yet . See the development forums for details on what you can see.
8. How can we help?
In anything pertaining to tiles, music, mini and back sprites, stats of moves and Pokémon, knowledge of game mechanics and scripting ability (Java or XML) is all needed. Help will be appreciated, and rewarded with a spot in the credits and a cameo for larger work
9. Why should we care? You have nothing to show us. Other games are DONE using RM2k3, and CoL with Sphere shows screenshots like, everyday!
Pokémon Treasures will have much more functionality than other games, and customisable for others to use our engine. It will run on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X - other game makers usually only work on Windows. PT is focusing on quality, rather than just making something boring and usual with a game maker.
