Okay the official message
Tomorrow morning I start highschool. I need to get up at 6:45 just to start getting ready, so I likely won't be on the computer in the mornings for quite some time. After school, I need to excercise and I need to finish my homework, which, likely after the first week until I get used to it, will take me until dinner. I won't be on much, though I seem to have a habit of putting this before school (Which I need to stop) so I'll still end up on ever night (And I'll be on MSN as I do my homework, which is almost exclsively on the laptop since I'm in that program)
Second term will be different. I have spare last period and I'll likely have more time since I'll be used to the workload. So expect to see me on more often past about February.
I'll still be on alot on weekends, unless I decide to get a more active social life (Which is more likely in highschool) or if my workload is too high.
Wish me luck, I'll need it. Only time and experience will tell how it will be and how much spare time I'll have.

Hey, matt, is this your first year in highschool? They always make newbies think highschool's a lot of work, while in fact it's not that much, especially not at start. The reason that I'm not online too much is not school work, but paid work, social life and the fact that I'm making my own linux distro, which takes a lot of time.
I wish you luck, but you probably won't need it. Highschool is a lot better and nicer to go to than grade school.

You guys have it lucky. My high school gives a LOT of work. Sometimes I have about five hours of homework a night. But other than that, it comes pretty easily, and tomorrow begins the first day of my final year! Then it's time for college.
By the way, I am back up here. It was absolutely devastating down there on the Gulf Coast. You can't even imagine. It was just unbelievable, yet so real. Deepest condolences still go out to all those affected by this storm...and I don't mean the gas prices!

Alot of my classes are boring. Some are fun though. I'm only a juniour but I might take part in a college program next year which allows me to go to college and highschool.

Well, maybe you're right, but that doesn't mean we don't have anything to do either. Some people in my class say they spend about 2 hours a day for homework. I don't get what they are doing, but well. I'm busy from 4.30 pm to 21 too, sometimes, but that's very rare. Mostly when we got to write a big paper about something within a month or a few weeks, but I only start the last day . Anyways, good to have you back Shadolf. Was it really that bad out there? I didn't even know something happened before you told us you were going to help. Maybe I should start watching the news again...

I hate AP courses...I'm taking my second, third, and fourth courses at my school this year, as well as a Spanish course offered through the local community college. Last year I got four college classes worth of credits out of my way, and if it goes well this year too, I should be walking into college next year with 12 full courses finished. Yay!!
They are just now starting to drain New Orleans. All the floodwater there is toxic and dead bodies are everywhere. It's haunting really.

I just started sixth form, which is sort of like college. I took 3 subjects instead of 4 - and now I have almost all of Friday free ;D

I'm in 5th form myself, but unlike in the US, I can't drop things and such. I've got choices, but not that much. In Belgium we can choose "directions" which include courses. In my school for example you can choose Latin-Math, Latin-Languages, Latin-Science, Economy-Math, Economy-Languages, Science-Sports, Science-Math, Science-Languages, IT, Bussiness, Food and Care and a few others. I'm following Latin-Math myself, with one extra, optional course. I've so got 14 subjects which I should finish successful. University in my country, however, doesn't count how much subjects you've got, but which direction you followed. I'm unable to drop one subject like you and have a friday free.

Grr. I'm the only one not taking difficult courses. xD
My 8th grade is weird: I'm taking Geometry and I'll be doing a lot of work for that...And I'm in 9th grade English as well, and we have homework every day. And lots of it too. So yeah.

I would take 9th grade Science too, since in Hawaii I did the curriculum in 6th grade what we're doing now, but I never bothered to say anything about it. x.x;;

Well, if you're smart enough, you can take the next grade level of a subject. Me, I'm alreayd doing grade ten work in our Pre-ib (advanced) course..

Sounds nice, I wish we could do that! What's "Pre-ib" however?

Before the IB course in grade 11, which if you graduate you can get accepted into IB (International Baccelauriate) schools in the US, like Harvard. My sister's friend did. It's basically our schools 80+ average class.

What's an International Baccelauriate school? Is it to do with law?

I think it does. Since Harvard is a law school, but I'm pretty darn sure you can learn other stuff.
